Tone

The tone produced on Alphayue strings is clear and bright, although not as bright as a traditional steel set of student strings. And for a string at this price point, the tone is warm and colorful, and the clarity is excellent.

Durability

One of the advantages of steel is its durability and resistance to atmospheric changes, but Alphayue strings combine this strength with the feel and playability of synthetic for a superior sound than traditional steel strings. Their lighter tension and supple feel make them a fantastic choice for student instruments as they're easier to play as well. The composition is as follows:

  • E-string: tin plated steel
  • A-string: Aluminum over a synthetic core
  • D-string: Aluminum over a synthetic core
